{"id":5645,"date":"2020-10-26T13:46:27","date_gmt":"2020-10-26T12:46:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.safram.com\/?p=5645"},"modified":"2020-10-26T13:46:27","modified_gmt":"2020-10-26T12:46:27","slug":"keep-calm-and-brexit-on","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.safram.com\/en\/keep-calm-and-brexit-on\/","title":{"rendered":"KEEP CALM AND BREXIT ON ?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Since the United Kingdom left the European Union on the 31<sup>st<\/sup> of January 2020 after 47 years of union, the two parties have engaged in intense discussions to define the new framework of their relations and to conclude a free trade agreement by the end of the transition period, which ends on the 31<sup>st<\/sup> of December 2020. With less than 70 days to the deadline, the horizon remains, to say the least, full of uncertainties over the hypothesis of a &#8220;no deal&#8221;, which could disrupt supply chains.<\/p>\n<p>In this context of questions, SAFRAM is mapping its course to better prepare to support its CUSTOMERS. We have already implemented a concrete action plan to help our customers manage this transition phase, namely:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Increased our storage capacities at SAFRAM UK as well as in Continental Europe (Paris, Lyon, D\u00fcsseldorf) for both general cargo and hazardous goods.<\/li>\n<li>Obtained the Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) certification, not only for SAFRAM UK but also for SAFRAM France and SAFRAM Switzerland.<\/li>\n<li>Obtained for SAFRAM UK the ETSF (External Temporary Storage Facility) customs status, which allows us to postpone the complete customs declaration and the payment of duties and taxes until the end of the agreed storage period for our customers&#8217; goods.<\/li>\n<li>Established a BREXIT Task Force to better support our customers through the transition phase.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our organisation is also supported by daily shuttles (round trip) between London, Lyon, Paris, Basel, D\u00fcsseldorf and Geneva. We are always available to advise our customers and help them anticipate possible waiting times to optimise their flow of goods.<\/p>\n<p>In the event of non-agreement or non-extension, we are anticipating scenarios of delays when crossing borders in both directions.
