Since its creation, SAFRAM has continually developed its network in order to satisfy its customers’ development strategies. In 2012, a transport route to Turkey was launched in close collaboration with a high-quality local partner, Smart Lojistik Uluslararasi Tas. Ltd. Sti.
Today, it has 6 departures per week, heading for Istanbul, Ankara, Bursa and Eskisehir, with connections to the country’s main economic centres. Fernando Fernandez, our Basel-based manager for Turkey, will be glad to advise you about the characteristics of this country. You can contact our offices in Switzerland, France and Germany for the departure timetable.
Turkey – A major player on the world stage
Turkey is the top economic power in the Middle East, ahead of Iran and Saudi Arabia, the 7th economic power in terms of Europe and the 16th worldwide. 95% of passenger traffic and 93% of domestic freight transport is by road. Turkey has 2,036 km of motorways in service, as well as 31,428 km of national roads and 30,920 km of regional roads.
The government is implementing a policy of developing its highway and motorway network by making many of its national roads two-lane and in particular by extending the motorway network (an additional 5,236 km), with 11 new motorway projects planned.
Turkey is expected to experience the strongest economic growth of all the OECD member states for the period 2011-2017. It therefore represents an extremely important growth opportunity for Swiss companies. SAFRAM will be by their side!
