SAFRAM has chosen CARCUBE – the embedded IT solution from Trimble. Loïc Cidolit, Operations Manager of the French site, led the acquisition project and explains the reasons for this choice.

Loïc, why was this investment necessary?

To gain comfort and efficiency. CARCUBE is a remarkable real-time information tool that provides the necessary information to the driver and manager during the transport process. This tool will enable us to optimise our performance, manage costs and preserve the environment, while also being able to provide information to the various supply chain stakeholders at all times.

What are the benefits for the driver?

CARCUBE is an effective GPS system. It has significant advantages in terms of safety and care of the vehicle by the driver; the software provides route traceability day and night. It “checks” various different elements, such as load security, transit documents, delivery notes, acknowledgement of receipt, etc.

The document scanner can send a proof of delivery directly to our website for our customers and our drivers can confirm the conformity of deliveries and pick-ups on CARCUBE.

How do you plan to equip your fleet of lorries?

We currently have 45 lorries. We chose the CARCUBE system for its simplicity, performance and versatility. It provides an all-in-one solution. CARCUBE ensures perfect monitoring and management. We are currently installing the system on our 35 lorries in the Roche-sur-Foron, Grasse, Genas/Lyon and Paris networks and we plan to fit out an additional 8 lorries for the Paris region. We will then do the same for the 2 lorries in Bordeaux and 10 in Geneva.

On what criteria was your choice based?

It is an excellent product, of course, and Trimble is known for its reliability and dependability. The availability, accuracy and efficiency of the sales representative convinced us in the end. In a few months, once we have mastered the system, we will be able to make an assessment of the economic value added by our investment.
