SAFRAM opens an additional Dangerous Goods warehouse in Geneva.
Following long negotiations and the support of its new owner (Heppner Group), SAFRAM is pleased to announce that it has added another location to its warehousing solution in Geneva. By doing so, it has more than doubled its storage capabilities for hazardous goods in Switzerland.
The state of-the-art facility which will start operating from the 1st of June 2022, is deliberately located in the proximity (800m) of our main hub in Satigny.
The strategically positioned facility will provide a solid logistical base for our current and future customers and is a perfect answer to their constantly growing warehousing and logistics needs.
The warehouse will be fully connected to SAFRAM’s European transport and logistics service and will be an integral part of our business and wider supply chain we offer to our customers.
This new hazardous material warehouse is able to store a broad range of chemicals (e.g. class 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9), and up to 10’000 pallets that can be safely stored on racks. The range of logistics services that will be offered includes full management through Warehouse Management System (WMS): receiving, inventory, pick and pack, value-added services, quality control, etc….
To provide high quality logistics services to its customers and the chemical industry, SAFRAM’s business requires very specific warehouse designs that must meet high standards. The new facility follows the path and is fully compliant with local and international DG standards, rules and regulations.
In view of the operations taking place, the warehouse is built according to explosion proof (ATEX) rules, as well as equipped with adequate retention capacities. The building is equipped with sprinklers and CCTV.
This additional warehouse enables SAFRAM to provide its services to an even larger number of customers and to strengthen the Group’s presence in the storage and transport of hazardous goods.
With the addition of this warehouse of approx. 8’000m2, SAFRAM is meeting its customer’s growing demand for modern and scalable infrastructures to further support them in the development of their own business.
We look forward to a bright future and showing you our facility the next time you are in Geneva.
