We are in an unprecedented situation. SAFRAM is fully aware of this and has, of course, adhered to government and health recommendations for several weeks, but has also put in place clear and precise instructions for its teams and network. With this in mind, massive programmes for the disinfection of docks and offices, teleworking, as well as independent shift work where teleworking is not possible due to the nature of operations, are being deployed to protect our employees and remain as productive as possible. Right now, situation is completely under control.
Every day we monitor with all our subsidiaries our delivery capabilities and check that our employees are operational. The borders of the majority of European countries are closing, including those of Switzerland, but our shuttles continue to cross them, with some waiting time though.
If we anticipate on the operating plan of Italy, which is the most advanced European country regarding the epidemic, the confinement measures that could be applied in other countries (and in France from 17.03.20 at 12h) should not stop the continuity of work and transport. We are also already thinking about several contingency plans in order to best prepare against the various scenarios we might face. In any case, if we have a very short-term view of our activities and depend on the daily announcements of the various States, be assured that we are committed to full transparency on the status of your shipments.
We thank you already for your understanding and goodwill in these difficult times. We are confident that we will be able to act in a thoughtful and collaborative manner to ensure that we all continue to operate and emerge from this period of crisis. In this perspective, we ask you to take care of these simple precautions:
– Ensure that the companies you wish to collect/deliver the goods are open in order to optimize our transport and storage capacities,
– Wait for our daily summary point from our operational teams so that we can focus on the essential tasks for the rest of the day,
– Prepare the necessary protective equipment for our drivers if you require it to be worn during collections and deliveries.
– Limit to the strict minimum the exchange of papers between senders and consignees through our drivers: prefer the digital version (e-mail).
Let us stand together and preserve each other!
