The Ventilo M1 SAFRAM catamaran is taking part in the Bol d’Or Mirabaud. The regatta embodies our company’s strong values.
The race is on! The world’s largest freshwater regatta: the Bol d’Or Mirabaud, will be taking place until 12th June. Over 520 monohulls and multihulls are competing on Lake Geneva, on a round trip from Geneva to Le Bouveret covering 123 km. It’s a key nautical event for sailing enthusiasts. Indeed, for 78 years, the race has seen well-known yachtsmen: L.Peyron, E.Tabarly or E. Bertarelli go speeding past. This year, for its second participation, the 35-foot Lake Geneva catamaran SAFRAM is taking part in the race for the trophy and will attempt to have its name go down in the history of Lake Geneva.
SAFRAM supports sailing on Lake Geneva
For the past 10 years, our group has loudly and clearly demonstrated its passion for sailing. Drive, passion and discipline; the values of sport and competition echo those of SAFRAM. More than just a race partner, we obviously provide a semi-trailer for its crew to transport the boat.
A special guest for SAFRAM
Goran Bezina, the famous Swiss and Croatian professional ice hockey player, lent the multihull team a helping hand. Present on a training day on Lake Geneva, organized by Maxcomm, the top sportsman shares his passion for the perfect result with SAFRAM. (Discover video below)
A boat with a strong track record
Taking part in the largest European lake regattas, the Ventilo M1 catamaran won four out of the five races run in 2015: the Geneva-Rolle-Geneva (SUI) (250 boats), Kekszalag (HUN) (580 boats), the Trofeo Gorla and the Centomiglia (ITA) (180 boats). A success for Rodolphe Gautier, the project leader. And, after finishing in 10th place in 2015, the crew will try its luck again at the Bol d’Or Mirabaud. The results achieved since the beginning of this year are very encouraging. We wish the crew every success for this new edition!
